Essential Oils

Posted on October 8, 2019 by superadmin

Essential oils are highly concentrated compounds extracted from plants. Although this may seem new, the use of essential oils dates back thousands of years when the Egyptians first burned incense made from aromatic woods, herbs, and spices. Therapeutic grade essential oils, like those used in the blends made at Chiropractic Health Associates, are obtained through distillation. Each oil has a complex chemical makeup of hundreds of unique chemical constituents giving them their remarkable benefits.
Essential oils have so many uses: many use them to freshen their homes, as a natural cleaner/disinfectant, as a bug repellant, in soaps and bath bombs, in homemade cosmetics and lip balms, in aromatherapy, topically, etc.
Essential oils are most often used in aromatherapy and topically. Both are forms of alternative medicine that employs plant extracts to support health and well-being.Essential oils are the closest thing in chemical makeup to human blood known to man. Inhaling the aromas from essential oils can stimulate areas of your limbic system. The limbic system plays a role in controlling several unconscious physiological functions, such as breathing, heart rate and blood pressure. Using essential oils topically, can have medicinal effects when absorbed. One drop of a 100% pure, therapeutic grade essential oil can absorb and reach every cell of the body within 20 minutes. The oils are absorbed via the epidermis, move from the soft tissue to the bloodstream and are carried to the treatment areas. Each essential oil has its own unique smell and potential health benefits. Knowing this, our essential oil blends are handcrafted to aid in treating symptoms from many different health conditions, such as headaches, muscle aches, insomnia, stress and anxiety, nausea, etc.
Of course, as with anything, there are safety guidelines that should be followed when using essential oils:

  • Always use a carrier oil when applying essential oils topically. Even though, they are natural, some can be irritating to sensitive skin and should be combined with a carrier oil. All of the blends at Chiropractic Health Associates have been hand crafted with a carrier oil and are ready for use immediately.
  • Keep out of the reach of children. Children should be supervised when using essential oils, as with the use of just about anything else!
  • Do not put essential oils in your eyes, ears or genitalia.

The use of essential oils is a safe, natural alternative to help with many conditions and Chiropractic Health Associates is always available to guide you and provide you with the purest blends for your needs.
